Introduction:

ICT  " Information & Communication Technology". It refers to the use of a new modern technology such as analyzing, storage, processing and as well as communication of technology. In order to understand full meaning of ICT, you have to know the meaning of three important terms "Information" , "Communication" and "Technology" sepreately.

1: Information:

Information refered as data that can be stored, recorded, organized in order to convey meaning. For example "NADRA" is an organization which collect data from people and this data is organized with the help of computers.

2: Communication:

Communication is basically the transfer of messages among people through system, devices such as computer ,internet, phone, telephone, television or radio.

3: Technology:

Technology is defined as making, usage of tools, techniques or machine for solving problems in less time.

After having a brief knowledge of these three terms seprately, now ICT can be defined as "any system or machine which can store, recieve and transfer data in digital form.

ICT Applications:

The applications of ICT helps people to communicate with each other from all over the world. The detail of important examples of ICT are given below:

1: Computer & Internet:

With the help of computer and internet, people can communicate with each other through various ways. This improve their interaction with whole world and provide important benefits to users such as they can play games, listen music ,watch videos and communication through e-mail.

Cellphone is another well known ICT device which allow user to communicate with each other. It provide facilities such as:

3: ICT in teaching & learning:

The use of ICT is very important for growth of young generation. ICT in educational areas spreading and become important part of society. Overall, ICT enables teachers as well as learners to:

* Teach well

* Learn well

* Solve different problems easily

* Work efficiently

* Share ideas with others

* Achieve goals in less time

This theme give young generation many ways for learning and generating ideas. This facility in classroom will be helpful for teachers to teach and learners to learn.
